Renal Registars’ Review and Retreat (4R)

Description
The 4R was initiated in 2011 to provide a focused in-depth annual review on various topics in Nephrology. Renal Senior Residents are tasked with doing the topic reviews under the supervision of their supervisors.
The programme was previously held over a weekend and systematically covered all areas of Nephrology (General Nephrology, Haemodialysis, Peritoneal dialysis and Transplantation) over a three-year period. NephQuiz sessions, in the format of the American Board Review Courses, are conducted by Associate Consultants. Awards are presented to the top two residents with the best topic reviews. With the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, the format of the 4R has moved to an online platform
The inaugural meeting was held on 15 – 16 October 2011 at Aloha Loyang and covered General Nephrology and Glomerulonephritis. A fun element was introduced in the form of a “Nephrology Idol” competition and a barbecue on the first night.
