The Society celebrated its 50th Anniversary with a dinner at the Singapore Turf Club on 18 Nov 2022. It was aptly themed: Celebrating our beginning, embracing a brighter tomorrow, and saw 120 guests and members enjoy a night filled with nostalgia as we took a walk down memory lane. We were honored to have guests and friends from across the causeway, including Tan Sri Dato’ Abu Bakar, Dr Lily Mushahar, the current President of the Malaysian Society of Nephrology, and our transplant surgeons such as Prof Chan Kong Thoe and Prof Ong Siew Chay, who performed Singapore’s first cadaveric and living-related transplants respectively. We fondly remembered 5 decades of the Society through an elegant and humorous presentation by Prof Woo Keng Thye, sat down to a sumptuous 7-course dinner, and took home many photos, door gifts (a set of earbuds and a souvenir program) and many more fond memories of the night. To SSN 100 years and beyond!
